Welcome to the online home of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in San Pedro, California. We are honored by your visit. We hope you will find our website informative and interesting.
Founded in 1924, Mt. Sinai is committed to sharing the Gospel not only by preaching and teaching, but also living the Gospel as a "Servant Church." We are a Bible-based body of believers focused on reaching out to the unsaved and un-churched as well as assisting believers in their walk with Christ.
It is our prayer that through this website you will learn more about our church. Also, we extend an invitation to visit our church. If you are ever in the San Pedro area, we invite you to worship with us. Mt Sinai is a place where "Worship and Welcome are Warm".

As we continue our series of living tributes honoring our senior members and their legacy of faith, this month we spotlight Sister Elnora Coulter.
Elnora came from Bon Weir, Texas in early1950 to live with her brother and sister-in-law in California. For many reasons her visit turned out to be home. Elnora was still in high school and this was a big move for her.
Elnora met and married Lionel Coulter at age 18 and because he was drafted shortly thereafter she stayed in California with her brother and she was able to attend night school to get her diploma. Because Lionel's mother got ill, Lionel came home, he and Elnora then had two children, Leslie (1953) and Jackie (1955) and moved to San Pedro. They were married for more than 25 years.
Elnora joined Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, February 27, 1956. She loved raising her children so she was a at home mom and she became involved in many church activities. She was a member of the Sanctuary Choir, Missionary Society, Sunday School Department and Golden Age Outreach.
Elnora eventually went back to work and worked for 31 years at UCLA Medical Center in Carson, CA.
She is forever grateful for her church and her church family for all their love and support especially during her illness. She is especially grateful to Pastor Thomas visiting her before her surgery and spending time with her. Pastor Thomas and his family are always in her prayers and she values the in-depth way he cares for those under his tutelage. Elnora loves The Word and spreading The Good News.
Elnora has three (3) grandchildren and four (4) great grandchildren.
Elnora Coulter is admired, loved and respected by everyone. Mt. Sinai is blessed to have such a kind, gentle spirit and we are all inspired for her service and total commitment to the Lord and our church.
The elderly who serve God deserve honor today, tomorrow, and every day.
